Welcome!
I'm Ronan Hix, a PhD student at Princeton University, advised by Prof. Eve Ostriker. My work leverages high-performance Numerical Simulations and advanced computational methods to gain insight into the complex physical mysteries of the Interstellar Medium (ISM), with a particular focus on Cosmic Ray Transport and Star Formation Theory. In the emergent post-JWST era, developing a more accurate and comprehensive understanding of the ISM is more important than ever, and it remains paramount in our quest to answer some of the biggest open questions in contemporary Astronomy.
Much of this site is still currently under construction, but please reach out if you're interested in learning more about what I do!
Research Interests
The ISM presents interesting and interconnected questions across a huge range of scales. I study them individually -- with a focus towards accurately capturing all the relevant physics -- while also investigating the impact of cross-scale interplay. To do so, I leverage a wide range of numerical methods and simulation codes. A few examples of my recent projects are listed below.
